Packed full of nutrients and protein, this houmous is super nutritious and perfect as a snack. It is also so quick and easy to make yourself. Whip up a fresh batch of this deliciously thick and creamy dip in less than 10 minutes and tuck in.
1. In a large wok, heat 2 teaspoons of rapeseed oil. Once hot, add in the finely sliced shallots & onion and cook for around 5-8 minutes until the onions turn golden in colour.
2. Place the chickpeas, fried shallots & onion, crushed garlic, tahini paste, lemon juice, water, 1 tablespoon of rapeseed oil, salt and pepper into a food processor. Whizz up on high until smooth. Add a little extra water if the houmous is too thick.
3. That's it. I served my houmous with some BioSnacky® Wellness Mix Sprouts and 'Mellojuice' watermelon seeds. Both of these additions add an extra layer of flavour whilst adding texture and extra nutrition!
I hope you give this delicious houmous a try! And if you do, be sure to tag the picture #AVogelRecipes on Pinterest so we can see :)
Chickpeas are a tasty vegan and vegetarian-friendly source of protein. They are also rich in dietary fibre, which helps to prevent digestive disorders, and they can boost energy due to their high iron content.
