Want to experiment with making lacto-fermented foods yourself? This recipe for Fermented Tomato Ketchup is easy, tasty and of course gut-friendly. In my video below I explain why fermented foods are so good for you and show you just how easy it is to make this delicious tomato ketchup.
1.Combine all of the ingredients together, and store in a glass jar with an airtight lid.
2. Allow the sauce to ferment by leaving it out at room temperature for 2 ½ – 3 days. Taste the sauce to determine if it’s ready, you’ll know it’s just right when the salty flavour has disappeared and the sauce tastes mildy tangy and almost very slightly fizzy.
3. Once ready, keep the ketchup in the fridge, where it can be stored for up to 8 weeks.
